Hi everyone, hope you are all well and no, I've not been convicted for crimes against style and fashion...
Some of you may know that, prior to caravanning, in the nineties, Trev and I were fortunate enough to travel extensively and our favourite destination was ‘down under’. One of the undoubted highlights was a six week tour around New Zealand, we hired a rent-a-wreck and travelled around both islands for six weeks, having the time of our lives. A fabulous country, fabulous scenery and fabulous people.
I never imagined that I would get the chance to go back, particularly since Trev died but I am beyond thrilled to announce that my dear friend Sandra has invited me to accompany her on what will be the trip of a lifetime. It’s all sorted with work, with extended leave granted – not that that was an issue – if they’d said no I would have told them to stuff it!
We fly out on the 12th December for just over eight weeks, motels are booked for the busy periods, as is the car hire. The old buzz about heading off on a long trip has returned after over 20 years and I’m loving it.
It will be fab.
Sandra:
The idea for this trip originated some three years ago but as we all know COVID got in the way and my plan to celebrate two significant birthdays went on the back burner. Fast forward to the end of 2022 and everything was falling into place and the idea was resurrected.
To say that I am excited is an obvious understatement, Richard agreeing to travel with me was the icing on the cake. I simply could not contemplate doing so otherwise. As we have done over recent years, I look forward to making more memories, very happy ones too, in the once in a lifetime expedition. I can only thank Richard for his support and enthusiasm in making this trip. It is now less than three months to our departure and plans, as Richard has said, are now at an advanced stage.
We will of course, share photo’s and stories as we go. Watch this space!
